North Korea to attack Japan more accurately
Although North Korea has last week launched its first ICBM test since mid-September, prompting concerned world leaders to prepare for another or more, the real target seems to be Japan than US going by recent trajectory tracking of missiles.
After conducting several monitoring of missile course till now, it found out that North Korea has improved its missile and nuclear capability which is more aiming towards Japan than US.
The newly developed Hwasong-15 was launched from a site north of Pyongyang and could travel far enough to reach the mainland US and Britain.
It is a more advanced missile compared to the Hwasong-14 which North Korea tested back in July from an undisclosed location.
The main threat for the West is whether the missile can carry a large nuclear warhead far enough to strike the United States.
Nuclear experts have said North Korea has yet to deliver a nuclear warhead on top of an ICBM, but it is likely this will happen soon.
The previous missile North Korea tested – the Hwasong-14 – had the capability of delivering a nuclear warhead to the West Coast of the US.
But the Hwasong-15 has a trajectory of more than 8,000 miles and therefore has the potential to cause far more devastation.
The Hwasong-15 would take less than five minutes to reach Beijing, Tokyo and Hiroshima and just 50 seconds to reach Seoul which is only 132 miles away.
The Hwasong-15 missile travelled 590 miles and reached an altitude of 2,781 miles, more than 10 times the height of the international space station. It travelled for 54 minutes.
If the missile had flown at a standard trajectory, it had the potential to travel more than 8,100 miles.
But North Korean experts are more replying about maps involving Japan than US. This means the Korean Communist leader Kim Jung Un is keen to attack Japan so that he can get more support for his regime.
There is a wide spread anger against Japan in both the Koreas. On the top of it, by attacking Japan, North Korea can also please China which has antagonist relationship with Tokyo.
Since China has asked North Korea not to take on US militarily, the real target is now Japan.
